Nothing makes a smile look better than pearly white teeth. At Edgemont Dentist dental clinic we offer two types of teeth whitening.

1. Take Home Teeth Whitening Kit , in the comfort of your own home

Custom-fitted dental trays are fabricated for you. Teeth whitening trays keep the whitening solution on the surface of the tooth and limit the exposure of the gel to the gum and other soft tissues in the mouth. Professional in-home teeth whitening kits are relatively easy and safe to use and offer great results after about one to two weeks of proper use.

2. In Office Teeth Whitening

The complete teeth whitening procedure is completed in one appointment which takes about 1.5 hour, perfect for busy people.

The procedure begins with a short preparation to cover the lips and gums, leaving the teeth exposed. The dentist or dental assistant then applies the hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, which penetrates the teeth and breaks up the stains and discoloration. With in office teeth whitening dentist can work with a more powerful formula without fear of damage to the teeth.The gel remains in place for about 15 minutes. During this time, you can relax, watch TV or listen to music. The gel is usually applied for three 15-minute sessions, for a total treatment time of 45 minutes. Immediately afterwards, a sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste-gel is applied to the teeth.

Sometimes we encourage our patients to combine both in-office teeth whitening and at-home whitening for a longer-lasting result.

A dental examination by our dentist is highly recommended prior to booking a teeth whitening session to make sure you are a good candidate for this procedure.
