What this policy covers

This policy is about this website, edgemontdentist.com — what it collects, where that goes, and what it does not do. It is written in plain language on purpose.

It does not cover your dental records. Information collected when you become a patient — your health history, treatment notes, X-rays, billing — is handled separately under the rules that apply to dental practices in British Columbia, and is kept in the clinic's own patient record system, not on this website. If you have a question about your dental records specifically, please contact the clinic directly and we will walk you through it.

What the booking form collects

If you fill in the appointment request form on this site, it sends us what you typed into it:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• Your preferred date and time
• Whether you are a new or returning patient
• The reason for your visit, if you choose one
• Whether you have dental coverage, if you tell us
• Anything you write in the message box

Only your name, phone number and email address are required. Everything else is optional, and the form works without it.

Where it goes

The form sends your request as an email to our clinic inbox, and that is all it does. This website has no database and does not save a copy. Nothing you type is stored on the site itself, and it is not sent to any third-party form service, marketing platform, or advertiser.

We use what you send to contact you about your appointment request. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or add you to a mailing list.

What this website does not do

Quite a lot, and we would rather say so plainly than leave you guessing:

• No cookies. This site does not place cookies on your device.
• No analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar service. We do not track which pages you read or how long you stay.
• No advertising trackers. There are no advertising pixels, no retargeting tags, and no social media tracking scripts anywhere on this site.
• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no login.
• No profiling. We do not build a profile about you or make automated decisions about you.

The few outside services involved

We should be honest about the small number of things that do reach beyond our own site:

• Fonts. The typefaces used here are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver them, Google's servers receive your device's IP address. No cookie is set by this and it is not used to identify you to us.
• Web hosting. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP addresses, which pages were requested, and when. These are ordinary technical records used for security and troubleshooting, and we do not use them to identify visitors.
• Links to other sites. Our footer links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps and LinkedIn. These are ordinary links — nothing is shared with those companies unless you click through, and once you do, their privacy policies apply, not ours.

How long we keep it

Appointment request emails stay in our clinic inbox for as long as we need them to schedule and follow up on your care. If you become a patient, the relevant details move into your patient record and are kept as required for dental records in British Columbia. If you would like your enquiry deleted and you did not go on to become a patient, ask us and we will remove it.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete an enquiry as described above. Just contact us using the details below and we will respond as promptly as we reasonably can.

You are also free to skip the form entirely — you can always simply call us instead.

Children

We treat young patients, and we are glad to. But this website is not designed for children to use on their own, and the booking form should be completed by a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version history to dig through — what is on this page is what applies.
